Welcome to the new Season
As we look forward to an extra special Ashes Cricket Summer, hopefully all the little cricketers in your household are getting excited about their upcoming cricket season at Marlow cricket club. I am very pleased to announce that this season, in addition to all our other teams, we have a brand new under 10s team managed by Tim Kidd and Al Cromie.
Congratulations to Andrew Jones, Will Buckfield and Peter Crane who have all qualified as ECB level 1 coaches during
the winter and join our coaching team.
Head Coach News
I take this opportunity to welcome Hamish Rutherford to Marlow Cricket Club as our new overseas player/coach. Hamish is the son of Ken Rutherford, who you may remember was the New Zealand test captain in the 80s/90s. Hamish plays 1st Class cricket for Otago in New Zealand. Hamish is a top class cricketer and a great coach so I am over the moon that he will be joining us this summer.
Subscription Fees
Membership fees are again set at £60 for this summer. This includes membership and weekly coaching. The application form and the health questionnaire must be filled in before any colt can take part in our coaching sessions. Please return forms to me by the 20th April. |
Dates For Your Diary
Registration Evening / Meet the Coaches / Bring and Buy Sale: Monday 20th April - 7.00 pm to 8.00 pm
We are having a pre-season get together for all the players / parents / coaches to get the administrative business out of the way. This is scheduled for Monday 20th April at 7.00pm, held in the club house.
This will be an ideal opportunity to chat with the coaches, highlight any issues or concerns, opportunities or concerns and get prepared for the new season. Also, it would be a great opportunity to bring along all your old kit that is now too small; bats, pads, gloves, lids, even whites and re-distribute to the younger players.
Obviously you will have the chance to buy some of this from the bigger boys too. Some sort of revenue share (yet to be defined) would go towards the new nets fund. Club Shirts and Caps will also be available to try on and buy.
Colts end of season BBQ and awards evening: Friday 31st July - 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
A great way to celebrate the season with friends and team mates and family. Team managers will review the season and award some trophies.
